Meols Hall

Churchtown Village,

North of Southport.

Tel: 01704

Visible down its long drive, which starts opposite the village church, Meols hall is closely linked with the village, where the family has lived for centuries. Much of the house is a remodelling done in the early 1960s, but done carefully using old materials from other demolished Lancashire gentry houses. It is worth visiting simply as the lates country house in Lancashire - a work of creative restoration - but the rooms are also attractive and well furnished and contain some fine pictures and family portraits.
