Location Map

Now surrounded by housing and industry on the edge of Salford Quays and used as a museum of local history, Ordsall Hall was built around 1512 as a substantial timber-framed manor house, and was extended in brick in 1639, by members of the Radclyffe family. The timber-framed wing with its large quatrefoil panels is the finest in the Manchester area and has two bay windows. The Hall, with its fine open roof, is the highlight of the house and is divided from the entrance passage by a tall wooden arch. Most of the furniture in the house dates from the seventeenth century.

Throughout the year you can enjoy a variety of exhibitions covering the experiences of people in Salford, aspects of social history, and traditional arts and crafts.
