Widnes and Runcorn are situated at the
northernmost edge of Cheshire in the borough of Halton and are
separated by the Mersey River. The Runcorn-Widnes bridge, the longest single span steel arch bridge in the United Kingdom,
links the two towns. It measures 329.8m
across(1082 feet)
