The Peak District
has
an amazing variety of things to do
and offers a wealth of activities for the
adventurous
including mountain climbing, potholing and
cave diving.
Cycling, horse riding and walking are particular
features of the area.
The Peak District National Park became the first
British National Park in 1951 and is now
one of the most visited areas in the world.
There are steam railways, the National Tramway
Museum at Crich and various shows highlighting the skills of
carriage and cart driving. The famous Blue John Stone can be found
here. For the more sedate there is some of the finest trout
fishing in England, or why not admire the beautiful scenery or
visit one of the many fine stately homes and ancient monuments.
