Bury Transport Museum

Opposite Bolton St. Station.

 


The Museum is a collection of road and rail vehicles used during the past
one hundred years. They range from a nineteenth century steam road roller,
to a modern double decker Greater Manchester bus. 

Exhibits include a fire engine, mobile lighting tower, fully restored traction engine and a 'Stop-me and Buy-one' ice cream tricycle. For the rail enthusiast there are three steam locomotives, two diesel shunters and numerous goods rollingstock of all types and periods. 

There is also a collection of railway signs which has been described by a leading collector as 'wonderful to see'.

 

Open each Sunday from Easter to the end of September.
