Cheshire has been a centre of the salt industry for some 2,000 years and today is the only place in Britain where salt is produced on a large scale. The salt Museum tells the fascinating story of Cheshire’s oldest industry. Videos, models, old paintings and traditional working tools will help the whole family discover a completely new side to something we all take for granted. Mining, working conditions, subsidence, transport history and much more will come alive.
