The North West contains some of Britain’s most impressive countryside scenery.

For naturalists there are many Countryside Parks, wildlife sanctuaries and Nature Reserves. Stocks Reservoir in the Trough of Bowland, for instance, is  great for bird watching and is part of an

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Across the Mersey, the Wirral peninsula has a 12 mile-long country park.

Equally important for wildlife are the sand dunes and pinewoods at Formby, and the ancient woodland of Stocktons Wood, part of the historic landscape surrounding the magnificent Speke Hall

There are countless Parks and Gardens such as Stanley Park and the Botanic Gardens in the Wirral.

From the Pennine Way, the greatest long-distance walk in the whole of Britain to the new Trans Pennine Trail, you will find countless Walks and Trails, footpaths, cycle-ways, bridle-ways bird-watching walks, butterfly hunts and hundreds more besides

Then there are Reservoir's Lakes and Waterways

These are just a few of the many outdoor activities that the North West has to offer
