85 acres of beautiful woodland and 7 miles of footpaths adjacent to the moors and Darwen Tower.

Information on walks and family treasure trails is available from the visitor centre which also has a variety of changing exhibitions and displays.

Open Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun plus bank Holidays.

This area is to the west of Darwen and access can be obtained from the main Blackburn to Bolton Road.

Opening times: 

Visitor Centre Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun 2.00 pm - 4.30 pm. Also Bank Holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and new Year's Day

Sunnyhurst Wood lies in a valley running in a north-easterly direction formed by a brook which originated on Darwen Moors. The old keepers cottage is now a Visitor centre with different exhibitions. Parking is available at the Visitor Centre at Sunnyhurst Woods at the Royal Arms car park and at Slipper Lowe car park.
