The Countryside Centre is the focal point for information about Afan Forest Park, its woodlands, wildlife, landscape and history. Since 1976 it has housed the South Wales Miners Museum which portrays a warm and fascinating social history of the Valley's Mining Community.

Brechfa Forest  

Carmarthenshire    

The famous Brechfa Forest, although now managed by Forest Enterprise, for both timber production and recreation, has a long history. In the middle ages the forest was mainly oak and ash and was an important Royal hunting ground, while until the 20th Century wood from the forest was harvested to fuel the industrial needs of South Wales. As well as playing its part in the industrial revolution, timber from the forest in the First World War was taken to produce naphtha for use in making explosives.

Felinwynt Rainforest and Butterfly Centre is 6 miles from Cardigan and 4 miles from Aberporth on the Aberporth to Mwnt and Ferwig road. We are 2 miles from Blaenannerch on the A487 follow the brown signs to Rainforest Centre.

Loggerheads Country Park

Loggerheads Country Park is an established Rural Country Park set in a limestone valley in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It encompasses a mining and tourism history. The Park is also managed for conservation, with SSSI (Site of special scientific interest) designation and rich and varied natural habitats.

The National Trust owns and protects much land on the beautiful Gower peninsula. The Visitor Centre is situated adjacent to the raised terrace, the Down, Worm’s Head, beach and coastal cliffs, and provides information about the area. There is also an exhibition and shop.
